What is your "Letter"? extra credit

I made my letter this morning. I had a terribly difficult time choosing. I figured I could relate any letter to the nebulous "something" I wished to be connected to in a positive manner. I really liked the "Q"...but I was struck by an older idea- inexplicably random, yet always in the forefront of my mind.
I thought about how being a teacher is an opportunity to see other's points of view. I included in this thought process not only the authors who write the books and plays that we read, but the important people on the receiving end- students.
Being a teacher grants me the opportunity to learn every single day. I have the chance to take ideas , toss them out into the ocean of the classroom and see who bites and then I get to encounter what I "reel in".
What I receive from students is often incandescent and beautiful. I get to "SEE" the way in which students interpret, process, and often put a fresh spin on the "things" we learn about in the classroom environment.
So...for my letter, I choose the "V". It stands for "vision"; the vision I am blessed with through communication and interaction with all of my students.

  2. My letter is a "D". The "D" stands for determined. The reason I picked this is because I am a very determined person. I do everything that I am supposed to do and I do not finish what I am doing until it is done. The other day I was thinking about what letter I was going to pick. I went to talk to Mrs. Wisinski about my classes, in the back of my head I had already picked to words determined and athletic. Not know what one I was going to use. She told me that I was a very determined person and work hard. After that I knew I did not have to pick between the two because she had told me. To me determined is doing the right stuff, at the right time and finishing everything that needs to be done. Many people are determined but some not as much as others. I know where I want to get in life and I am determined to get there.

  3. My letter is "H". The "H" stands for heart. I chose the letter "H" and the world heart because everything you do in life takes heart. I have the power to not give up on tough situations, and always fight my way through the bad and awful situations. What ever life throws at me I am ready for it and I am looking forward to what is to come.

  4. The letter I chose for this extra credit assignment is “A”. I chose the letter “A” because it stands for athletic. I feel like I fit in the category of athletic because I play three sports all year around. Well currently I am not playing basketball due to the fact that I was cut but I feel like I am the best basketball player in the world. Besides basketball I play golf and I could say I am pretty good at it. Seeing that I made it to states this year I am pretty good. Besides basketball and golf I also play baseball for Trinity and I play travel baseball in the summer along with playing in the Jr. PGA. I also could say I am good at baseball but not as good as I am in golf but I am better at baseball than basketball. I feel like I am athletic because I am good at all sports I play and used to play like football and soccer when I was younger. I would also consider myself athletic because I have a nonstop year of sports and I am always participating in a sport whether it is playing or just practicing and working out in the off season.

  5. I chose the letter "V" for vivacious. I feel that I fit the part of being vivacious very well. I am always hyper and lively and that is exactly what vivacious means. I am always loud and out there and I think that it is just the person I am meant to be. I try and make people smile as much as I can and fix people's sadness when needed. If someone is having a bad day I can turn that around within two minutes of talking to me. I try and be fun and outgoing and hyper which I am 98% of the time and sometimes it is too much for certain circumstances. People usually say I am a fun person to be around because I am so lively and usually up for anything that comes my way. I wanted to pick a word that people would hear and instantly think "hey, that sounds like a description of Bailey". Some people that do not even know me think that I am outgoing just by the way they see me. I am usually hugging people and talking rather loud all the time. Being lively and stuff has its bad moments though. It gets you in trouble in school a lot, but I do not think that stops me from being who I am. When I am having bad days it may be hard to be my usual self but I always remember that that is who I am and that is what I am supposed to be. I am supposed to be this vivacious girl bringing smiles to everyone who meets me.

  6. I chose the letter C for courageous because I think I have gained a lot of courage since freshman year. I remember freshman year I was really shy. Whenever I meet new people I'm really shy but I open up the more I know them. I absolutely hated talking in front of people I would be nervous the whole day. Now I talk a lot and I'm not shy in front of my class mates. I don’t mind talking in front of the class nearly as much as I did freshman year.
The letter C also stands for caring. I'm a very caring person I really don’t like being mean to others. I always feel bad if I act rude to someone. So I try my better to care for everyone’s feelings.

  8. I chose the letter L for Loner. I keep my true feelings and thoughts to myself. People say that I’m not a loner but actually, no one really "knows" me. I always walk around with a smile on my face, but that does not necessarily mean that I am happy. I just do not feel that it is necessary to bother people with my feelings. I keep most of my thoughts to myself because people have a tendency to judge. I am not interested in most of the things that everyone finds "popular." I do not even like to share my music because everyone listens to the "Kiss FM," pop music. I like alternative, and techno, and people will even judge me just for that. It is just better to keep my thoughts to myself so no one has the opportunity to hurt my feelings. People also say that this is not a positive attribute. I disagree. I am actually defending myself without affecting anyone else in any way.

  9. I picked the letter “O” and it stands for outgoing. I believe that I am usually an outgoing person. I am loud, energetic, and always looking to have fun. I can walk into a room with people I do not know and I can make friends. I went from Nordonia to Trinity with one best friend and a couple people I knew, but that was it. I have made many great new friends and I think it is because of my outgoing personality. I think it is good for people to be outgoing, but I do understand that it is just not for some people. Being outgoing has helped me make new friends and also stand out amongst a group of people. Being outgoing can also be a bad trait. Sometimes people may say I am too outgoing. I say what is on my mind and sometimes comments just come out of my mouth. I would rather be the person that says what is on my mind then hide my feelings. Overall I think outgoing is a word that can best describe me!

  10. For myself, I chose the letter S for strength. I consider myself to be strong, not by a physical standard, but rather on both a mental and spiritual standard. I feel like through hardships I have encountered, it has made me a stronger and more of a well rounded individual. On a spiritual sense, I feel that over the past few years I have grown into a more developed state of faith, and through that I am also given strength. I know that this is not a word that others would likely describe me with, but I feel like that makes it even more true because it is unapparent. One's deepest attribute is the one that is kept inside.

  11. I chose the letter A for athletic. I am a three sport athlete and sports are my whole life. I grew up watching the Browns, Indians, and Cavs through the good times and the bad. I use athletics to get myself where I want to go in life. It also helps me to be a role model for my two younger brothers. That is the most important to me because I want to be someone my brothers look up to.
